When setting up ads for your products, the suggested bid range indicates what other advertisers are paying for similar items. It’s there to help you get started with your advertising campaigns. But if you have a clear goal in mind, it’s best to pick a bid that fits your plans, and then tweak it based on how your campaign performs.
In this example screenshot, most ads are winning auctions with bids between €0.07 and €0.73. For this keyword or ad group, Amazon recommends a bid of €0.57. If you raise your bid, your ads can become more competitive in the auctions. This means the range might shift upwards, pushing competitors to bid higher to win. Of course, this can lead to bids trending higher overall. However, if you’re achieving the right level of ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sales) that keeps you in profit, it could be worth increasing your bid to drive more sales than before.
The suggested bid and the range are updated daily depending on changes to competing bids and the number of ads in each auction. Therefore, it is advisable to review them regularly.
