Today we had a really interesting day with a Toy Online Seller in London. The business, a manufacturer of hand-made toys, is selling successfully on Marketplaces ( eBay, Amazon) and Website. We were booked to help the business grow across all channels and find new channels to grow the existing business. So, we spent the day discussing:
#1 How business could effectively use Amazon FBA?
FBA is a good option for many businesses but not for all. With our experience of helping sellers across many categories, we were able to help business decide the right way forward.
#2 How to expand sustainably across Europe ?
Whilst Amazon is relatively easy platform to expand into Europe and so is the eBay, we focussed our discussion most profitable products to sell in Europe.
Additionally, we found out Amazon US as a very lucrative market which could be true for many retailers. We used Amazon research tools to help out estimated sales for our product category which helped to make a right decision.
#3 eBay and Amazon SEO.
eBay and Amazon are relatively easy platforms to use and can be mastered in a day but experience always helps. We discussed proven strategies to get on the top of eBay and Amazon search results.
#4 How to leverage Amazon Marketing options ?
Amazon is an innovative retail channel and most fail to take full advantage as there are very less information out there. During this discussion we were able to include best practices of using Amazon PPC.
Additionally, we discussed how Amazon Vendor account could benefit the business with increased sales.
#5 Choosing the correct Multichannel platform.
This was an interesting discussion as there are so many out doing similar stuff. We took “business & user centric” approach which enabled us to finalise the right channel to consider.
Further more, we discussed how we can grow website sales with Google Shopping and Social Channels. It was a really enjoyable day and we ended the day with a strategic plan for the business. We are increasingly seeing businesses demanding for one to one session to develop the business are we are getting better at this. Free resources like webinars and blogs does help to understand so called “expert” opinion but personalised session like today aims to help business grow.
We can help your business grow too on Marketplaces and through your own website. So, get in touch today to find out how we can help.
We have been working recently with a Cartridge Manufacture based in Ireland. Though our ultimate aim was to improve sales we went through some key elements of listings to get there. Here’s what we did
#1 We found out that the listing lacked image that actually depict what product is in search so we created new product with actual cartridge, branded box and colour on the top right. Here’s how it looks in search
This has positive impact on increasing conversion.
#2 We worked on titles and added popular search terms “Replacement Cartridge”. This increased product impressions and ultimately sales.
#3 We worked on product description to make it more readable. We made Model number bold as customers look for
the replacement cartridge for the model of the printer. We also made rest of the description reader friendly with bullet points.
#4 After working content we rolled out Automatic PPC ads which generated additional sales.
#5 Product reviews are important doubtless and we created a template and started communicating actively with previous customer to write product reviews. We saw result within 24hour and we will continue to do so.
These are very easy to use methods that every businesses should consider following. Content is definitely the key, if you don’t have rich content it will be very difficult to get the conversion. We are here to help so, just give us a call on 029 02236 2596 or 0751 88 39629 or email us if you have any questions.

7. Have you seen account suspension due to this ?
Yes. I met a retailer turning £43,000 a month and the account was permanently suspended.
8. How would I know this information is valid ?
This information has been drawn from Amazon seller support and practical experience with UK sellers
Recently I discovered this GU 10 Led Light listing on Amazon. I saw it advertised for £21.98 and went to buy but later discover it was temporarily out of stock from Amazon themselves. I spent few more minutes to read product reviews and discovered that this was also sold by a third party at £7.95 ( 63% cheaper than Amazon ) however I would not have known this out if hadn’t spent few more minutes on this listing. So, why did Amazon did not allow this third party to appear before themselves when they are not in stock with Amazon. There seems to be no issue with the third party:
#1 100% Positive Reviews
#2 Free Delivery
#3 Lower Price than Amazon
If this stock was available with Amazon, I would have paid lot more for the same product. From this experience, I would be checking other sellers when I shop with Amazon and you should too ! The one on the top is not necessarily better value for money.
If you were a third party seller on Amazon selling this product, you could win the top spot popularly known as buy box by sending stock to Amazon for fulfilment (FBA). On this occasion this looks like a compulsion rather than choice for this retailer. It does not seem right but who can fight with the mighty Amazon !
** Few days later there was another seller on this listing selling with FBA. I have updated the slides with new seller. If the third party above does FBA they would do it bit lesser price than the new seller and win the buy box.
Personally, I do read product reviews on Amazon before purchasing anything. This becomes more important when I am spending bit more money on any product. I believe it is the same case for many of us. This is something Amazon is taking very seriously and giving importance to new and most helpful reviews as a part of new change is Amazon Reviews Algorithm which is already rolled out in the US and will follow to other countries eventually.
I have sometimes doubted if these reviews are really true. I have found some reviews very comprehensive and I question if somebody really has spent that amount of time writing it ? Perhaps no, perhaps yes but I am fully aware that there are several reviews site that encourages product reviews with a compensation. It is good for retailers to boost their white labelled products but not of buyers. Good news is that Amazon is already on legal battle with fake review site companies. So, if you are thinking of going this way perhaps you should reconsider.
Not surprisingly, I have had few inquiries about getting quicker reviews with highly regarded retailers in the past, some of them trading in the UK for over 80 years. I understand it is not easy to get reviews from customers but I have kept myself away from recommending fake ones though I was not liked to be saying this.
Now, you know that new review system will give more preference to new reviews, reviews from verified accounts and reviews that get the most votes from buyers
as a UK retailer what is the best way to get more product reviews on Amazon ?
Amazon FBA is an attractive business model through which a person like you and me can start selling online from anywhere in the world without involving your on day-to-day basis. With many success stories about Amazon FBA, quite a lot of people have started to find a ways to take a plunge and the good bit is there are plenty of online courses on this.
Recently, I had a opportunity to work with an enthusiastic to be Amazon FBA seller from Brighton who traveled to our Newport Training suite for a half day training. Like the most he has spent time learning using online courses and his choice of udemy. It was a good course giving information out but lacked giving individualised experience. This is when one-to-one Amazon FBA trainers are in need and we booked a half day training.
This one-to-one Amazon FBA training started with a simple process of
1. Finding out what you want to achieve and your understanding in the subject
2. Find out what you want to learn specifically
3. Including what’s needed to be successful
I use this process because everyone is different and with different level of understanding whether you are working for your own or working for someone else. This process allows me to find out what’s needed for personalised training and I prepare for it.
During this training we went through the basics of listing product right on Amazon and covered product titles, search keywords and getting the image right. We also discussed about shipping the right way for Amazon FBA US and went a bit out of the way talking about how get new business using Facebook pages. Additionally, we discussed how important private labelled is and listing products with two ASINs to maximise the sales.
All in all, it was really a productive half day course and after a day I received this testimonial –
“I am very pleased with my meeting with Prabhat. I was stuck at the point where I could go no further. Prahbat has provided me with the tools and the guidance to go forward and continue my journey with on-line selling.
I would highly recommend Prabhat’s services to speed up your journey in the on-line world.”
If you are looking for one-to-one Amazon FBA training please feel free to get in touch. I travel widely in the UK to deliver one-to-one eBay and Amazon training. You can also chose to visit our Newport Training suite and spend a day or half day for your training.[contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"]
Customers browse through Amazon listings in an intention to buy your products. It is always good
to have a good product details. This becomes more important when you have won a buy box for a particular products. So, here’s three quick tips:
1. Include your main keywords on your product titles. Including brand name is only important if it is being searched.
2. Use bullet points to mention features of your products and include benefits as well. It is good to capitalise first letter of each points.
3. It is best to keep your description concise. Remember HTML codes that were allowed at one time does not apply any more. You can try for bold
for paragraph change like this experiment listing. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00W25S3FA
It is also good idea to experiment any offers like buy 2 get 1 free.
